The Residue Project

​

A dance-theater work-in-progress containing three pieces/sections (IOTA, inplainsight & Ellipsis) that can be performed individually or collectively as a program. This began as a project to write and record some songs after some significant changes in my life around 2018 or 2019. It became a whole other entity as the pandemic arrived and over the years morphed into creating three movement/sound-based pieces that continued to work with this concept of residue, of that which is left behind, as we navigate personal and collective transitions and transformations. An integration of storytelling through live/recorded music, dance, and movement influenced by experimental theater/somatic practices.

~IOTA: Iota is the smallest amount, the smallest speck of something. Is this where we start or where we end? 

 

~inplainsight: What you see is, what you see? What you hear is, what you hear? Are you sure? Am I sure?

 

~Ellipsis: That which is left unanswered, unsaid. Is this the residue?
